Lecture: "Education and research on sericulture at TUAT Technology"

This lecture will explain the changes in the sericulture industry from the Edo period to the present day, and the associated TUAT.
- outline of the sericulture industry in the Edo period before and after the opening of the port: The rise of the sericulture industry through the export of silkworm eggs (eggs) and raw silk
- outline of the sericulture industry from the Meiji to Showa periods that supported modernization: Research into the spread of silkworm diseases caused by mass rearing and countermeasures, breeding of silkworms suitable for mass production, and contributions to genetics
- The current sericulture industry and the production of useful materials using silkworms
