Admission Overview
The admission capacity for the master's program in Department of Advanced Interdisciplinary Science is 99, and the number of applicants for each course is as follows. In addition to those who have graduated from the Faculty of Agriculture or Faculty of Engineering of the University, we will conduct a general entrance examination for graduates of undergraduate programs at other universities, and conduct a special selection for working adults and international students who have experience in research activities at public research institutes and private companies, etc., and a wide range of working adults and international students. Enrollment is in April and October.

Regarding entrance examinations
(1) Standard Selection
In order to accept students from both Japan and abroad who have a strong desire to acquire advanced specialized and interdisciplinary knowledge and pioneer new frontiers of knowledge, are interested in the latest developments in science and technology, and are motivated to take practical action, the selection process involves a comprehensive assessment of students' interest and motivation, knowledge, skills, and understanding, ability to think, judge, and express themselves, and ability to work collaboratively, as well as English communication skills (scores from external tests or grades from the alma mater) through academic ability tests (written and oral).
However, for those who wish to be exempt from the written examination, the application will be evaluated based on both the oral examination and the transcript of their alma mater.
(2) Special Selection for Working Adults
The program is aimed at students who have experience in research activities at research institutes or private companies, and who have a strong desire to acquire advanced specialized and interdisciplinary knowledge and pioneer new fields of knowledge, are interested in the latest developments in science and technology, and are motivated to take practical action. To this end, students are required to take academic ability tests (written and oral) in specialized subjects. However, students who have excellent grades and are deemed to have sufficient academic ability without relying on the written exam may be exempt from the written exam, and selection may be made based on a combination of submitted documents and the oral exam.
In addition, special provisions for educational methods based on Article 14 of the Graduate School Establishment Standards will be applied, and measures will be taken to suit working students, such as providing classes or research guidance at night or at other specific times or periods.
(3) Special Selection for International Students
We select international students who have a strong desire to acquire advanced specialized and interdisciplinary knowledge and pioneer knowledge, who are interested in the latest developments in science and technology, and who have the drive to take practical action.To this end, we select students based on their application documents regarding their research results and achievements to date, as well as their future research plans, and also impose an oral examination on specialized subjects.
In addition, for those who live or study abroad and find it difficult to come to Japan to take the exam, an oral examination will be conducted using a remote conferencing system or similar.
